Rogue Valley Schutzhund Club Trial
Rogue Valley Schutzhund Club held their 2023 Trial on September 23, 2023 with USCA judge Al Govednik. Al did a wonderful job of judging and offered in depth critiques for the benefit of each participant and spectators. Following the trial on Sunday he did a clinic to answer questions tips on how to improve scores and also provided coaching in tracking and protection.
Special thank you to USCA helper Edward Hayes and track layer Kevin Nance. Congratulations to everyone who entered the trial and achieved their new title!

Treasure Valley Working Dog Club Trial, Labor Day Weekend September 2023
An absolutely AWESOME Labor Day Weekend at Treasure Valley Working Dog Club! Two working trials (IGP and USP!) and the club’s first RH entry!
Big Congratulations to Erica Crowe and Rgos vom Theishof for achieving IGP2 and USP3!
High IGP1 went to Elena Gannett and her GSD, Shaft s Putilovoy Gory.
Judged by USCA Craig Groh, helper work by Brandon Theis, and tracks laid by Heidi Theis, the event was a big success!

Judge Groh & Yuri Kachuro built TVWDC’s new RH equipment behind the club house. Yuri’s dog, Y-Kaya, achieved their RH-F-2A, a two-day title! Big congratulations to Yuri and Y-Kaya!!

2023 PNW Regional Helper Seminar & Classification
This year’s PNW Regional Helper Seminar and Classification was hosted by Twin County Schutzhund Club and led by USCA teaching helper Patrick Davis. Of the 12 participants there were 10 helper classifications: 2 entry level helpers and 8 basic level helpers. Congratulations to everyone!
New! USCA USP Titles
In response to removal of the stick hits from IGP titles by the FCI, USCA has created a new title: United States Prufung (USP). Please see the letter below from USCA.
Also, a note from our Regional and National Breed Warden, Heidi Theis:
“USP will be judged most likely only by USCA judges – or foreign WUSV judges where their countries do not yet have federal law prohibiting stick contact. FCI judges will not be allowed to judge these titles so please keep that in mind.
If someone has me as a judge you need 2 separate event authorizations and do essentially 2 trials. You can do USP one day and IGP the next day if your club wants to offer both so your members can earn titles with stick contact still. IGP won’t have any stick contact.
My club will definitely take advantage of this to retain stick contact titles on our dogs. We will do IGP but we will also do USP, my club has collectively decided we want to require USP titles on our member’s dogs!
As your Regional Breed Warden and as the National Breed Warden, I wish to encourage everyone to do the same, most especially on their GSDs. USP will be accepted for USCA breed survey (not for SV breed survey). You can do only USP if you want for this purpose.
I hope the PNW Region promotes USCA EB’s effort to retain stick contact, it is an important test!”
2022 PNW IGP Regional Championship Results
The 2022 PNW Regional Championships was hosted by Rose City Working Dog Association in Canby, OR. The event was judged by Heidi Theis (USCA). Tracks were laid by Pat Driscoll and Denis Krigbaum. Helpers were Denis Krigbaum and Nick Bethard.
